I'm such a slacker! I missed my own one year anniversary for my blog. Now for this Belated Happy Anniversary I will talk about...
Ashanti!

Remember when Ashanti first came out?
Foolish was the video! Do you remember that beautiful, talented and hungry young adult who had us all rethinking our effed up relationships? Her follow-up single was "Happy" and there birthed a series of events that I call "The Ashanti."

In that video she danced and in that dance there was a move that involved her touching her hair, hugging herself, then pointing to you. Flip that around and put a little speed to it and you have "The Ashanti." You - Me- My Hair. Search any uptempo songs made by Ashanti and you'll see her signature move over and over and over again. You can search "Still on It" and "The Way that I" for a more of "The Ashanti" because it's so darn cute. Anyway, the point of this entry is to let you know that with major thanks to you, me (and my hair of course), I would not be the blogger I am today.

Thank you readers, family, friends and hairstylist's for keeping me beautiful because that keeps my spirits spiffy and my posts perky. Lets hope for another wonderful year.

Tunnel Vision

Last week a fellow journalist died in a car accident. A lot of people at my job knew him as a kid from SIUC who died in that terrible accident the other day but I actually knew that kid, Ryan Rendleman. This one friend of mine is in some deep shit. 1. He's in jail. 2. He's in jail because he was speeding on a stolen motorcycle. 3. His mother is a laywer and she is so pissed at him that she won't get him out. 4.5.6.7.8... 9. He is a pretty boy Kappa, which has turned him into a womanizer. But the number one reason why he is in some deep shit is because 10. He gave his main girlfriend the passcodes to his voicemail, email and facebook. Ok let me break down that last sentence. A side of Baby Mama, hold the drama

Just a few years ago, I would cringe at the term "baby mama," Today, I embrace it. It is what it is and I am who I am.  You have to live your life and roll with the punches. I never thought I'd be a baby mama. I'm more of the wife, fiance, girlfriend type. Or so I thought.
